Leigh Central Function & Events Centre

The Seaview Room, Courtyard Lounge and Commercial Kitchen
are now complete and ready for bookings.


The Vision.

We understand that every event is different; whether it’s a wedding, conference, family celebration, exhibition, or community get-together.

We also know that these days, people often prefer to ‘do their own thing’ and personalize their special occasion rather than be constrained by the ‘must do’s’ of the venue.

So our vision is that the Leigh Central Function Centre will be designed as an affordable ‘bare-hall’ hire, allowing you to build your own event as you wish.

You may choose to do your own decorating and catering and provide your own beverages, but we will also have connections with recommended local providores, caterers and events staff should you need some extra help and ideas.

With its fabulous location right in the heart of beautiful Leigh, and the option to book out the whole place for your guests with our Coastel motel accommodation and Motorhome Park onsite, we think Leigh Central will be the perfect getaway spot for your special event or celebration.

The Venues

The Courtyard Lounge, which used to be the Lounge Bar, is perfect for smaller groups, conferences or cocktails.

This more intimate space caters for up to 50 guests and opens outside to a peaceful and sunny walled garden courtyard, complete with chiminea and fountain.

In what used to be the Public Bar, the Seaview Room, caters for up to 150 guests and has an amazing view out to sea and the Tawharanui Peninsula.

Add to that decks, balcony, garden and outdoor marquee area, and it’s bound to become a favourite venue. The room is now complete with the remainder of the landscaping being completed early in 2018.

Both rooms will have access to the newly complete Commercial kitchen, brand new and generous in size, so catering for a crowd will not be a problem.

The Commercial Kitchen is now available for standalone hire if the function rooms are not in use. One or both of the rooms may be hired depending on your requirements, but we will only host one function at a time.
